At The Cherry Tree our philosophy on food is very straightforward – good, honest food prepared and served with care and to the standard we expect ( and we’re fussy! ) Our two main chefs have over 50 years experience between them, ranging from street food in India to multi rosette fine dining. All food is prepared in our own kitchen using the freshest ingredients we can source and from suppliers as local as possible. We use traditional, time honoured methods to make everything from our hand cut chips to our popular ranges of pies and desserts.
At The Cherry Tree we can offer private dining for up to 12, sit down meals up to 40, buffets up to 100 and can add a marquee for larger events. We also cater for parties / functions of any size, including bars if required, and specialise in ‘al fresco’ catering to include Hog / Lamb Roasts, BBQ’s, Paella Parties, Street Food Stalls, etc. As with the food we offer in our bar and restaurant, we make everything in our kitchen so can produce any dishes you may ask for and can accommodate any dietary requirements.
Every 1st Thursday of the month is Curry Night offering a range of at least five different curries and accompaniments, served buffet style from 6 until 9pm ( you’re welcome to make as many trips to the buffet as you can manage! )
As with all our food, all dishes are made using traditional methods and ingredients – our chefs have huge knowledge between them of curry dishes from many countries and regions.
The exact dishes change from week to week but, to give you an idea of what is on offer, a typical selection would be;
Potato, Spinach & Coconut Curry
Mixed Lentil Dhal
Steamed Basmati Rice
Various Chutneys and Sauces
And all this for £10 per person!
We offer a range of dishes to takeaway, for collection. Orders can be placed direct by phone or at the bar.
The Cherry Tree is a Free House serving ales from Harveys of Lewes and Longmans, a range of tap and bottled ciders & lagers, selected wines from around the world and an extensive range of spirits, liqueurs and soft drinks.
During the warmer months you can enjoy a jug of Pimms in the sunshine in our terraced garden or perhaps sample some of our cocktails.
If it’s a hot drink you fancy we serve fresh coffee, teas and hot chocolate and for those days where the chill has started to bite, what could be better than a glass ( or two! ) of our own special recipe Mulled Wine sat on the sofa in front of our roaring log fire?
